  3. who are equipped to serve in the most contextually relevant ways
  4. for the blessing of every ethne and their environments.

Values

The Mission Commission values:

Worship
Participating in culturally diverse expressions of our love for God expressed in myriad forms of praise and honour and glorification.

Maintaining a high view of the Bible as the sole authority for our faith and action, and promoting biblical fluency and competency among all people, whether oral or literacy reliant.

Proclamation
Using every means to communicate a biblically faithful gospel in every context.

Community
In-Christ — as gathered groups of disciples in mutual commitment as members of local churches, helping each other to grow into full maturity in Christ.
On mission — as scattered disciples in collaborative action beyond the bounds of the local church, demonstrated by the Mission Commission through (online/in-person) events and broad-spectrum content creation that represents a wide range of perspectives in the global missions community.

Service
Sacrificial practical self-giving for the benefit of people, societies, the physical environment as a sign/witness to the power of the gospel and demonstration of our commitment to co-create new creation (the kingdom of God), now in part, coming in fulness.

Replication
A commitment to encourage all believers to make disciples, participate in the planting of new churches, and live out the principles of the new creation/kingdom of God wherever the Spirit of God calls them so that new life may emerge and generate new life elsewhere.

Research
To curate experienced expert opinion and data collection to provide insight into critical issues faced by followers of Jesus as they seek to make the gospel known, engage with brokenness, and glorify God in particular contexts.

Objective

We seek to strengthen participation in God’s mission by being a central point of collaboration for missions alliances, movements, networks, agencies, churches and ministries worldwide. Collaboration emerges as leaders from these different groups, with their distinct missions focuses, convene to discuss issues critical to the wellbeing and effective outcomes of global missions and agree on ways to address those issues.

Such issues discussed consistently include the need:

  • to see the gospel propagated where it is least known
  • to equip Christian leaders in new indigenous movements
  • to increase biblical literacy among followers of Christ, and
  • to nurture Christ-centred communities of faith that positively impact their society for whole-of-life wellbeing
  • with a particular concern for amplifying voices of the Majority World and women in missions conversations.
