The IV Ibero-American Mission Congress will be held in Bogota, Colombia, August 22 – 25 2017. It invites the regional and global community to follow Jesus, to walk in unity, to grow in commitment and fruit, and to live the whole Gospel among all peoples. The theme is “With Jesus, In Mission”, focusing on contextualizing His model of community and work into the challenging panorama of contemporary global mission.
The congress will mark the 30th anniversary of COMIBAM, which started in 1987 in Sao Paulo, with the commitment and a affirmation that Ibero-America* was no longer just a missionary field, but also a missionary force. That first Ibero-American Missionary Congress presented a strong vision and call to go to all nations, and invited all to collaborate in a concerted way, launching a regional mission movement. The second event took place in Acapulco, Mexico, in 1987, examining the development of the movement and the response to the opportunities and needs in the mission field. The third conference was held in Granada, Spain, in 2006, and it considered the reality and work of the missionary and the results of their work among those who do not know Christ.
