David Ruiz Resigns

by | May 2, 2018

Dear MC Associates and friends,

It is with deep regret that we write to advise you that David Ruiz, Executive Director of the MC, has informed the GLC of his decision to step down from this role. David has given many years of committed service to the MC. In his own words David says, “I love working in the Mission Commission where I committed my life in the last 21 years, 11 of them serving as part of the staff.” Over these years David has made every effort to see “The Mission Commission as a home base for leaders — reflective practitioners, academics and practitioners — to discover deep community, mutually learn, and respond to issues of shared concern.” We want to thank David for his stint as Executive Director and also for his years of faithful service to the MC, fulfilling a number of roles. Please pray for David and his family as they seek the Lord for what is next.

David’s desire is to finish well the transition process the Lord invited him to lead during his time as Executive Director.  He is committed to work with all concerned in building a better platform for the next stage of the Mission Commission. To this end the GLC will be working with David and the MC staff team to hold a Consultation that will focus on the unique role that the MC plays in the church and missions, and how the MC and its future leader may be best equipped for this role.

Please keep the GLC and the whole Staff team in your prayers as we lead the process reflecting on, and re-defining the role of the MC and the transition to new leadership.

We know that God is in control and encourage you to join with us in seeking His path through this period of transition.

In Christ,
Peter Tarantal
On behalf of the Global Leadership Council
